Channel tunnel train operator’s passenger numbers dropped by 95% after March 2020 lockdown
Eurostar, the operator of train services to Paris and other destinations via the Channel Tunnel, and has secured a £250m refinancing deal from its shareholders and banks to help it manage the impact of the Covid-19 crisis.
Eurostar said the coronavirus pandemic had affected it more than any European railway operator or competing airline, and that the support package would help it meet its financial liabilities.
