UK house prices see strongest five-monthly gain since 2004

Values are up 6.5% since June, with cost of average home rising by £3,000, says Halifax

The value of a UK home increased by an average of almost £3,000 last month as the market defied lockdown conditions and experienced its “strongest run” since 2004, according to the Halifax.

At £253,243, the typical property price has risen by more than £15,000 since the end of June, said the mortgage lender.
